Piano Solo - Level 4 - SKU: A0.752422 Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Mozart. Arranged by Rob Bushnell. Classical,Film/TV. Score. 7 pages. RBMusic #6014617. Published by RBMusic (A0.752422). Famously used in the 1967 film Elvira Madigan, hence the nickname, the Elvira Madigan concerto, Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 21 was completed soon after his 20th in 1785. There are 5 different arrangements for solo piano, each getting progressively harder and trying not to compromise on sound where possible: Level 1: Just over a minute long, this is the easiest version. Both hands are very simple and are very close together, making it easier to see what all the fingers are doing at the same time. No jumps greater than a fifth and no large chords, making it perfect for smaller hands. Level 2: Two version provided: the first just over a minute long; the second the complete length of the movement, minus the orchestra introduction. Again, the melody has been simplified, though harder than level 1, with an increased coverage of the piano. The accompaniment is either static chords (now triads as standard) or broken arpeggios. It now has jumps in the right hand of just over an octave, with the left hand moving relatively little between chords/arpeggios. Level 3: This version has an optional cut, otherwise is the complete second movement, minus the orchestral introduction. Similar to level 2, only one hand tends to be changing pitches/rhythms at any one time, but the right hand is now almost the same as Mozart’s original (with some ornamentation removed or written out in full). The left hand now has the familiar broken-chord pattern (see opening bars) but in simple rather than compound time. On the whole, the left hand moves relatively little between chords, although there are now some larger jumps when the right hand is static. Level 4: Like level 3, but with the broken chord in compound time throughout. Some of the orchestral accompaniment has been integrated into the music, though simplified. Level 5: The hardest version, more difficult than the original solo piano part. Still no orchestral introduction. Includes more of the orchestral accompaniment than level 4. This, in essence, is a piano transcription of the full orchestration for piano and orchestral. Here is a recording on YouTube of Alicia De Larrocha playing the solo with Sir Colin Davis conducting the English Chamber Orchestra: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=df-eLzao63I. 2 Pianos,4 Hands,Piano Duet - Level 4 - SKU: A0.1369322 Composed by Johann Simon Mayr. Arranged by Fabrizio Capitanio. 19th Century,Classical,Instructional,Opera,Romantic Period. Score. 92 pages. Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele #953678. Published by Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele (A0.1369322). Johann Simon Mayr (1763—1845) is a composer rarely performed today. His music, reflecting the transition from the Classical to the Romantic musical era, inspired Rossini and was crucial in the development of Donizetti’s style. He became a central figure in the musical life of the Italian city of Bergamo where, in 1805, he founded the Conservatory, at the time known as “Lezioni Caritatevoli di Musica”. One of the first pupils of the “Lezioni” was Gaetano Donizetti, whose production and fame soon arose above everyone else’s. The first concerto, in C major, is one of the three surviving keyboard concertos from Mayr’s manuscripts kept in the Biblioteca Musicale Gaetano Donizetti and in the Museo Donizettiano. It is pedagogical in nature, its light orchestration (only 2 oboes and 2 horns joining the strings) allowing it to be performed with minimal forces. In three movements, spanning about 18 minutes in total, it looks back at a late Classical style that was quickly fading out of fashion at the time of its creation (1825-6).This edition comes with the unique contribution of M° Fabrizio Capitanio, in the form of a thorough musicological research delving deep into the historical context, and all of the critical aspects that made this work possible. M° Capitanio also realised the reduction for two pianos for this title (ASE 0051).The full score is available under Catalogue N° ASE 0047, while orchestral parts can be found as a bundle under Catalogue N° ASE 0053.This edition is also the first one in the new series dedicated to the City of Bergamo: La Bergamasque! His versatility and dazzling competence across a wide variety of musical genres are surely a result of his studies. The composer is also an exceptional pianist and frequently performs his own piano works (concertos, sonatas, 24 preludes and fugues, etc.) on the concert platform. While employing a variety of modern compositional techniques he has, nevertheless, succeeded in uniting traditional and contemporary forms. His work is suffused with his love for Russian folkmusic, poetry and literature, yet it is not just relevant in his homeland but speaks to a wider audience. His more recent works too, are characterized by this fusion of a deep Slavic sensitivity with outstanding virtuosity.3 (3. auch Picc.) · 3 (3. auch Engl. Hr.) · 2 · 2 – 4 · 3 · 3 · 1 – 4 P. S. Schott Music - Digital #Q5862. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q5862). The Piano Concerto No.2 was first performed in Cape Town in 1949 and in the following year was broadcast on the BBC Radio Third Programme. It was enthusiastically received by the critics, Ernest Newman writing of it ’I was particularly intrigued by the skill with which the composer has managed to fuse Hindustani modes of expression and European ways of thought and factors of design into a single organic whole. I was greatly intrigued by it’. It had many performances and broadcasts in the composer’s life time but after his death, was not heard again until 2007 when it was specially recorded for broadcast one evening in ‘Scotland’s Music”, a BBC Radio Scotland’s series of weekly programmes. John Purser, writer and presenter of the series which ran for a year, comments ‘The Concerto emerges as a major achievement in terms of over-all conception, technical innovation and brilliance and superb handling of the orchestra’. The soloist, Dutch pianist Ronald Brautigam, said of his experience “It is a great privilege to be working on such a wonderful Concerto! I have completely fallen in love with the piece. The work is definitely challenging, but the wealth of musical ideas, the refinement of the slow movement, the humour and boisterousness of the finale make one forget that at times fingers need to be scraped off the keyboard’. 《關渡狂想曲》 Capriccio of Kuando, for Piano and Orchestra

Published by SpringAutumnmusic (A0.961990). 2001, Capriccio of Kuando, for Piano and Orchestra This piece is not a conventional piano concerto, but the piano still plays a major role in the orchestration. It is not program music either. The composer has been living in northern Kuando for years, facing the Kuando Plain, where he was inspired by the first ray of the morning sun, the sunset glow, the misty fog in the morning, and the brightly lit night scenes. The inspiration, coming in dribs and drabs, in a haphazardly contemplative way, resulted in this attacca piece. The work was originally titled Kuando Fantasia, and renamed as Capriccio of Kuando later. ※This composition was commissioned by Chew’s Culture Foundation in 2000, and the symphony orchestra of National Taipei University of the Arts gave its world premiere at the National Concert Hall in Taipei in 2001, with the pianist Wang Mei-Ling and conductor Hsu Sung-Jen.
